Marlow’s Tavern Selected As State Finalist For 2020 Restaurant Neighbor Award

Marlow’s Tavern has once again been selected as a state finalist for the prestigious Restaurant Neighbor Award in recognition of its ongoing work on behalf of Special Olympics Georgia. Each year, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation honors restaurants that go above and beyond in serving the communities in which they operate.

“Marlow’s Tavern is honored to be recognized for our ongoing work with Special Olympics Georgia,” says executive chef, CEO and co-founder John C. Metz. “Working with such an outstanding organization is truly a humbling experience. All of us at Marlow’s are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in so many lives.”

Marlow’s Tavern raised $110,000 for Special Olympics Georgia in 2019, including $84,000 through its 21st annual Marlow’s Tavern Golf Classic at TPC Sugarloaf, taking its lifetime contribution to $1.25 million since the inception of their partnership in 1999. The donations help fund athletic competitions and provide life-changing experiences to 26,841 athletes, their families and the community.

Marlow’s Tavern will now compete with other state winners across the country for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s national award. Three national winners—a small business, a mid-size restaurant company and a large national chain—will each receive $10,000 to support a favorite charity or community project. The prizes will be awarded at the Restaurant Industry Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., on March 4.
