MasterCard and Stand Up To Cancer to Launch “Dine and Be Generous” Program

This summer, MasterCard and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) are once again teaming up to offer the restaurant community and their customers an opportunity to help raise money in support of cancer research.

“Dine and Be Generous” is a national marketing campaign designed to raise funds for SU2C, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and 501(c) (3) charitable organization that raises funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives.

Restaurateurs can join the fight by supporting and promoting the program in their establishments using MasterCard-developed tools.

How It Works:
From July 10 to September 28, 2012, when U.S. MasterCard cardholders use their card to pay for their bill more than $10, MasterCard will make an automatic one-cent donation to Stand Up To Cancer – up to a total of $4 million.
• Eligible transactions include dining in, takeout and delivery
• For this program, restaurants are defined as:
- Full-service restaurants
- QSR
- Many sports concessions (certain terms and conditions apply)
• If a MasterCard cardholder makes the purchase by tapping with MasterCard PayPass, MasterCard will double the donation.

Getting Involved:
This program can help restaurant owners build their business, while continuing to create a sense of community among employees and customers by supporting a worthy cause.

Easy-to-download point-of-sale template materials and other resources are available to restaurant owners at www.mastercard.com/supportSU2C.
