We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Inside Sales Representative, with prior experience, that shares our values and a desire to work in a performance-oriented, team-based culture and wants to join our winning team.
The purpose of the Inside Sales Representative is to provide customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase and recommends additional products or services to meet customer needs. Customers communicate with an Inside Sales Representative to request orders, product information, quotations, and lead times by telephone or email. The inside sales person’s job is to build quotations on products, enter orders and communicate pertinent information on them to customers and vendors. The Inside Sales Representative will work cooperatively with other members of the distribution team to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction. A positive, can-do attitude is a must.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
• Respond timely and accurately to all incoming customer correspondence
• Manages a broad base of customer accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, and serves as a liaison between customer and Instawares.
• Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
• Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
• Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
• Provide accurate information regarding pricing and availability of in-stock items
• Present price quotes, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles
• Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders and quotes
• Confidentially maintains customers profile and securely processes financial transactions
• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
• Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
• Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
• Setup and maintain customer files
• Manage time effectively, meet personal and goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
• Prepare and maintain goal/action plan to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
• Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
• Preparing action plans and schedules to meet target ‘in hands’ dates
• Assist with client pricing and lead generation
• Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
• Recommend operating policy and procedural improvements
• Report any system or product inaccuracies
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 1 to 3 years experience in restaurant equipment and supplies industry, or related transferable skills
• Customer centric and Internet savvy
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Strong MS Office skills
• Able to work in a fast paced, closely integrated team in which customer delight, communication, teamwork and flexibility are essential
